Last Friday I learnt a very valuable life lesson when it comes to Social Media!
I lost 14 years of content in the blink of an eye. Somebody hacked my Facebook account, and when they realised it served them no purpose, they attached a profile to my Insta Account for nefarious purposes that goes against the Meta & Facebook community standards, and pooof GONE!
And if I’m honest, it completely winded me, not to mention leaving me a bit pissed off!
Gone!
- Every photo.
- Every message.
- Every memory that marked who I was… and who I’ve become.
My worse nightmare happened! While I was at the quarterly Professional Speakers Academy meeting for the weekend..... What a weekend, so much fun and great collaborations being made but I digress.
My Facebook account was hacked! It was more than just a Facebook account to me, it was also my window on the world, bridging the gap and connections with people I loved that weren’t at hand, and lived in remote but lovely parts of the world.
It was a timeline of identity, 14 years of milestones, memories, laughs and jokes, motivation, and everything in between.
And just like that, it was taken. No warning. No reason. Just a load of grief and a blank login screen. Soooooo frustrated, I still have all the emotions, delay, denial, distraction and doubt!!
For a moment, I froze. Then came the disbelief, the frustration, the grief. Because yes, it was more than just a Social Media account, this felt like a loss.
But here’s what I realised in that moment:
Sometimes, life forces you to pause, reflect, and release what you thought you needed, so you can reconnect with what truly matters.
Now, I had two choices:
1️⃣ Stay stuck in the "why me?"
2️⃣ Or ask the more powerful question: - “What is this making space for?”
That’s where the shift happened.
This wasn’t just about content. This was about a reset, a relaunch, new opportunities to reclaim my space and shout even louder. It was a reminder that I need to trust in the foundations I’ve built within myself, not just online showing up as a Social Media personality.
There is real depth to my content, not just some spurious mumbo-jumbo created by ChatGPT or another AI bot.
Because, you know what, here’s the truth:
💥 The value isn’t in the posts, it’s in the impact.
💥 The memories aren’t lost, they’re lived through you.
💥 And the voice I’ve built? It’s only getting louder.
If you’ve ever felt like everything’s falling away beneath you, know this:
- You haven’t lost yourself.
- You’re just being invited to rise differently.
So today, I’m rebuilding. From a place of purpose, clarity, and alignment. And I want to invite you to do the same.

Let this be your permission make that change.
Not to start over, but to start stronger, bolder, louder.
So the next time life gives you lemons, what you gonna do with them? - Me, I'm gonna add them to my Gin & Tonic.
